Cluster is Winnipeg’s most dynamic take on contemporary art and sound. Revolving around an annual core festival that takes place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Cluster is a platform for artists to create, experiment, collaborate and present fresh work to new and diverse audiences.
Cluster bursts into its eighth edition with a program of fresh sound and performance. Located in venues around Winnipeg’s downtown, Cluster 2017 delivers deeply personal A E S T H E T I C experiences.
Highlights of Cluster 2017 include an excerpt from Freya Björg Olafson’s newest multimedia dance work CPA (Consistent Partial Attention), a solo piano show by Everett Hopfner in which each piece is a personal testament by a living composer (Air Loom), Montreal’s Plumes Ensemble dissecting and tessellating Grimes’ entire Visions album (Many Visions), and Quasar saxophone quartet blowing the roof off in a melée of saxophone, noise, video and light (HELLO!).
This year, Cluster takes you inside our memories : pre and post-internet, digital and analogue, partial and reconstructed, individual and collective… we promise it will be unforgettable.
