DECA Ryerson

Who Are We?

DECA Ryerson is the connection between university and your career! We help students/members foster knowledge and experience gained in and outside of the lecture hall and give them the opportunity to develop their analytical, presentation and networking skills through a variety of in-house training sessions and networking events. Delegates are then put to the test when asked to use these skills while competing in case competitions at the regional, provincial and international levels throughout a variety of industries ranging from Sports and Entertainment Marketing to Financial Services. Each year, DECA Ryerson holds various events that allow our delegates to compete in different business industries business simulations and case studies to develop the practical skills necessary to be successful business leaders.

DECA Ryerson aims to help students develop confidence and demonstrate leadership in the business community. Our membership base is comprised of first to fourth year students from all disciplines in both business and non-business faculties from all across Ryerson University.

Since its establishment at the Ted Rogers School of Management, DECA Ryerson has become the largest and one of the leading student groups at Ryerson University.

Our Core Values:

Our Mission:

“To mobilize, equip, and inspire our delegates and event attendees to reach great heights.”

Our Vision:

To be the premier DECA U chapter dedicated to making a lasting impact and playing a continuous role in our delegates’ lives as they mature from a university student to a business professional.

Community:

DECA Ryerson is involved in various initiatives throughout the year to help local communities and charities. We believe in the importance of giving back so that our reach may extend and help those that may need aid or support. Our members are always trying to be involved in local efforts, such as CIBC’s ‘Run for the Cure’, so that funds may be raised for charities and organizations, such as the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
