Dr. Marie Holowaychuk is a small animal emergency and critical care specialist. She is an enthusiastic speaker, dedicated locum, accomplished researcher, and skilled consultant, as well as an advocate for wellness in the veterinary profession.
Dr. Holowaychuk graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and then did a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Washington State University. After that, she completed a 3-year residency in small animal emergency and critical care at the renowned North Carolina State University. After becoming board certified in 2008, she was Assistant Professor of Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario until returning home to Alberta in 2013.
Dr. Holowaychuk is a certified yoga teacher and has attended wellness conferences and mindfulness workshops. She is passionate abouot fostering wellness among veterinary professionals. She currently lives in Calgary with her Standard Poodle named "Faith". When she is not working, she enjoys swimming, running, cross-country skiing, and practicing yoga.
