Feist - New world German translation for ‘well fed’.

Believe me when I say I was well-fed growing up. 

My father is a chef and naturally, food was the primary language in our household. Through the years, I got to witness the power of food in bringing family and loved ones together. There is nothing quite like the joy in carefully preparing a memorable feast and hearing the laughter and conversations around the table. I never imagined to be following in my father’s footsteps. The lessons I’ve learned from both my father and mother have influenced the chef I’ve become today.

My goal in creating Feist is to inspire shared experience and lasting memories through the culinary journeys we create.  Our core philosophy is to allow the food to speak for itself. We pride ourselves in sourcing quality, local ingredients and showcasing them with thoughtful, careful preparation and creative presentation.

Chef Westley Feist brings 10 years of culinary experience to Feist.  His experience includes Marriott Pinnacle Hotel in downtown Vancouver as an Executive Sous Chef and recently as a Sous Chef at the renowned Vancouver Club. Previously, he had the chance to spend the summer at Westcoast Fishing Club on Langara Island in the beautiful Haida Gwaii. He is passionate about creating culinary experiences that engage all your senses.  Through personalized menus, he will work with you to create a unique and special experience for you and your guests.

Westley has traveled extensively through Europe and Asia. His travels have influenced his distinct style combining Nordic techniques with Asian flavours and ingredients indigenous to the Pacific Northwest.

Westley has represented Culinary Team BC in Europe on two occasions: First, in 2012 at the IKA Culinary Olympics in Germany where they received a silver medal. Second, in 2013 at the Culinary Grand Salon in Switzerland.
