AFP Calgary & Area Chapter
AFP Calgary & Area Chapter was established in 1996 in what was then known as NSFRE,
the National Society of Fundraising Executives. The organization has since become the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is a global organization.
Since 1960, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) has inspired global change and supported efforts that generated over $1 trillion. AFP’s more than 32,000 individual and organizational members worldwide raise over $100 billion annually, equivalent to one-third of all charitable giving in North America and millions more around the world.
To become an AFP member, professional fundraisers must sign off on and adhere to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles Adopted 1964 and Amended Oct. 2014. Members also recognize The Donor Bill of Rights created by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits. It has been endorsed by numerous organizations.
The Calgary & Area Chapter is one of the largest in Canada with nearly 300 members.
The Calgary & Area Chapter has enjoyed many accolades over the years and this has thrust the Chapter onto the national and international stage.
