The Story Telling Project

The Storytelling Grade 10 History project

The Glencoe & District Historical Society is reaching out to other organizations to join a collaborative project: recording short stories to help students understand how they got here… whose shoulders they are standing upon. All ages of story tellers are invited to tell a story about the twentieth century - 1914 to 2021. Click on this form link https://forms.gle/skp3vXTgK1WG3bUB9 and send us your idea.

This project is inspired by the Grade 10 history curriculum which focuses on Canada from 1914 to the present. There are five strands.

A: Historical Inquiry and Skill Development

B: Canada, 1914–1929

C: Canada, 1929–1945

D: Canada, 1945–1982

E: Canada, 1982 to the Present

Check the Grade 9 and 10 History Curriculum for Ontario for theme ideas: http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/curriculum/secondary/canworld910curr2018.pdf.

Tell your story and link it to the larger contemporary Canadian context at the time. Now is the time to tell our stories so that our legacies are not forgotten. We want to bring history to life by telling personal stories about our lives and our communities during the past century. This includes recent history!
