Lift Huron is an Olympic weightlifting club for youth, aged 11-18. Our mission is to build strength, confidence, and community awareness in local teens. The club is dedicated to the memory of Steve Darbyson, who passed away in April 2011 after a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease). His strength and generosity are the inspiration behind Lift Huron.

Lift Huron is a non-profit club. Each year, we donate our fundraised money to local organizations. Read about how we distributed our donations in 2014 and 2015: Lift Huron Gives Back to the Community.

We practice variations of the two Olympic lifts – the snatch and the clean and jerk. We meet Mondays from 4:30-5:30pm, and by appointment.
