Mariana Kavroulaki is an experimental archaeologist –food historian who researches Greek historical recipes and recreates them with ancient or modern techniques for spectacular food events.

Designer of interactive edible experiences that bring historical Greek gastronomy to life through synaesthesia, she also explores the relationship between art and food. Her work takes many forms, including pop-up dinners, experiments, lectures and edible installations.

She is the founder of Greek Culinary History & Cooking Adventures and the founder and organizer of the biennial Symposia of Greek Gastronomy (conference~ www.greekgastronomy.wordpress.com). In addition to organizing for SofGG, Mariana organizes conferences and events focused on topics like gastronomy, the anthropology of food, food and art, future of food etc.
