Metro Vancouver

Metro Vancouver operates on the principle that government and services should be provided as locally as possible – reflecting the history, culture and geographic attributes of each of its member municipalities.

Metro Vancouver is a partnership of 21 member municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services. Its core services are drinking water, wastewater treatment and solid waste management. Metro Vancouver also regulates air quality, plans for urban growth, provides affordable housing and manages a regional parks system.

As part of the regional park system, Metro Vancouver manages the 5,668-hectare Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR) which contains spectacular and rugged landscapes. Its alpine peaks, forested slopes, and pristine waters offer incedible scenery and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Metro Vancouver's Water Services Department manages the LSCR to maintain its recreation, education, and environmental values in conjunction with its capacity as a water reserve.
