MHRM Alumni Association

Masters Human Resources Management ALUMNI Group: In June 2008, a group of recent graduates from Masters of Human Resources Management (MHRM) at York University met to discuss the concept of formalizing an Alumni Group at York University. Ken McBey, the Director of the HR program at York, initially introduced the concept of an alumni group, but indicated that the future of the alumni group needed to come from the ranks of the graduates. As the MHRM program was fairly new, the numbers of alumni has been relatively small. A small group became very engaged in discussions to formulate the group and a more formal planning meeting was held. There was consensus from the graduates that an alumni group should be formed with the intent to open up membership initially to all graduates of York University’s HR programs. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss interest, create a governance model, identify critical success factors and to request nominations and volunteers to start the group. Since that time the MHRM Alumni group has evolved and developed a strong foundation and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who shaped the group to it’s current state. Our group is now in good standing to take on a number of initiatives that we have heard you value and expect from this group.
