Patti was born and raised in a farming community just outside of Regina, Saskatchewan.  Her training is in Psychiatric Nursing, having completed her diploma in Psychiatric Nursing in 1986 from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology.  She received an Advanced Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing in 2000 from Douglas College, and a Bachelor of Health Science degree in 2009 from Thompson Rivers University.  She has worked in a variety of mental health and school settings throughout her career, working with clients of all ages.  In 1993, Patti moved to Medicine Hat to work on the Child and Adolescent Team at Community Mental Health Services and was employed for 7 years in this capacity.  During this time, Patti developed a passion for working with clients who struggled with eating disorders and body image issues.  In 2000, she began a specialty practice in the area of eating disorders while in the role of Eating Disorder Specialist with the Alberta Mental Health Board’s Provincial Eating Disorder Service.  In 2007, Patti took a position with the PAS Program, an adolescent mental health program offered by Alberta Health Services.  In July, 2010, Patti left Alberta Health Services to fulfill her dream of operating her own private practice. She has also been employed part-time by the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education since January, 2012.
