PS LET'S DYE: Paulina Szczesny

PS LET’S DYE is a textile movement based in London, Ontario founded by Paulina Szczesny. Paulina Szczesny teaches workshops and creates one-of-a-kind products. These materials are uniquely hand dyed using traditional, natural methods and indigenous plants from all over Ontario. Natural dyeing allows for the elimination of harmful chemicals in treating materials. As a result of the over-consumption and toxic substances used in the textile industry, it has increased the environmental and cultural degradation. Within the textile industry, most branded and unbranded garments commonly found in the market use resins to control the shrinkage of material. Almost all commercially used resins contain formaldehyde or other harsh chemicals. PS LET’S DYE targets the use of healthy and sustainable methods, which inspires others to be conscious of the materials and chemicals used to create textiles.
