Rewilding - Big City, Little Homestead

Jane Sorensen started blogging about living rural in the city in 2011, and shares her experience in creating wildlife-friendly habitat on urban properties by converting driveways and parking spots into green spaces, creating water features and niches, growing green walls to shade structures and provide additional food and habitat, and using native species in landscaping. She also implements measures to prevent bird strikes, as increasing urban features of glass and lighting, as well as providing features that attract birds, will likely increase the chances of them flying into windows and glass balconies.

She's also a provider of home-ec and workshop education through a newly-created Maker series for kids, entitled Bricolage Buddies.
