Smart Sustainable Lighting Network

Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), unlike conventional lighting, offer direct electrical to light conversion and hence the highest possible efficiency. LEDs are one of the most rapidly emerging technology markets.

Founded in 2009, the Smart Sustainable Lighting Network (SSLNet) has become Canada’s largest and most active lighting network. The Impact Centre at the University of Toronto initiated it to address the industry’s need for a professional network and to catalyze the adoption of sustainable lighting technologies in Canada.  The SSLNet supports a broad membership—including industries, academic researchers, government agencies and end users—in order to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between sectors.
