Sonia Issa

I’m a momma of 2, wife to 1, firefighter as a career and an online optimization healthcoach as my passion. I help people upgrade and take control of their health and inner strength using functional movement/yoga programs, meditation and holistic lifestyle. I believe deeply in personal development and continued education so you can find me reading and listening on anything to do with biohacking, disease prevention and Upgraded health. Oh and I love to eat have fun and dance and sing daily

Here is my story in a nutshell

Once upon a time I trained aggressively, heavy and almost neurotically. I was doing cardio twice a day and adding uppers ephedrine and caffeine to keep my bodyweight low.  I focused on separate body part training and was very strong in the gym. What I didn't realize was I was causing intense mental and physical trauma in my body and mind. For years I  battled with allergies, anxiety, skin rashes, bloating, acne, injuries and cravings I could not control. I was definitely strong in the gym but when real life situation came about I felt weak and would injure myself.   I became obsessed with health and the human body which led me to my studies majoring in Exercise Science and psychology. During my time as a trainer I came to the realization that I wanted something more; to make an even bigger impact in others lives which brought me to firefighting. With firefighting came other stressors ----I needed something to heal me, ground me and take away the edge. It was at this point that yoga and functional training really became an integral part of my life. I originally went to loosen my muscles but what opened up in me was so much more. Yoga has given me the opportunity to connect with my body and my being in such profound ways. It has truly calmed my heart and helped me focus and realize what is important to me. I feel that it has helped me to remain steady and calm in stressful situations. With this new awareness I feel more able to handle life’s endless dilemmas without feeling overwhelmed.  I also learnt challenging poses-such as supporting yourself on your hands-will help you realize that you're capable of more than you thought possible. I typically teach a more dynamic style of yoga because I believe movement is one of the ways to dig deep in the muscles and release all these held emotions. (In short when one experiences trauma, emotional trauma, scarring the fascia looses its pliability and you may feel stuck or experience pain and other emotions and disease) —- this fluid movement and mindfulness is perfect to move through the emotions and release them.

I now have over 20 years of experience as a personal fitness trainer/ yoga teacher working with people of all ages and backgrounds. I no longer struggle with acne, hormone imbalances, or cravings or any of the myriad of imbalances I experienced for years.

I have learnt less is more.  I understand the importance of creating programs with time efficient workouts and reducing risk of injuries. I help people take small steps towards lifelong, sustainable changes. It’s amazing how fast the body can heal if you nourish it with healthy food, regular movement and emotional release.
My soul mission in life is to inspire you to take control of your health and make lasting change.
