Soroptimist International of Cambridge

SOROPTIMIST is a global volunteer organization, in more than 120 countries around the world, that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Each year, Soroptimist disburses more than $2.8 million in education grants to nearly 1,800 women in the 20 countries that make up our federation -- Soroptimist International of the Americas... assisting 35,000 women through our signature program Live Your Dream: Education & Training Awards for Women, since the program began in 1972! Our send signature program Dream it, Be it: Career Support for Girls has provided 73,000 girls with access to professional role models, mentors, and career education since its launch in 2015.

Soroptimist International of Cambridge has been serving our community for over 40 years, and its members work tirelessly to support local projects and agencies such as the Cambridge Food Bank, Women's Crisis Services Waterloo Region, and Cambridge YWCA, as well as annual participation in both Soroptimist signature programs.

In addition to several local fundraising events (Holiday Urn Workshop, JD Sweid Chicken Sales, LUNAFEST Film Festival), Cambridge Soroptimists have organized an annual International Women's Day Celebration on, or close to, the globally-recognized day of March 8. The event is FREE to register, open to everyone, and will take place virtually on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
