Soroptimist International of Vancouver BC

Soroptimist International is a worldwide organization of business and professional women who unite to make a difference for women. Working within our community and through national and international projects, Soroptimists enhance the education, health, human rights and status of all women.

Our years of experience working with women and girls has taught us that education is the key to unlocking economic empowerment of the world’s women and girls. The funds raised from this event will be put towards our awards programs that celebrate and assist women in their education quest.

Women are economically empowered when they have control over their own finances and well-being, and when they have a voice in the financial decisions to shape their lives and the lives of their families. When women and girls are empowered, they have a sense of autonomy, self-confidence, and the power to control their private and public lives. We focus on education because we believe it’s the most effective way toward empowerment. When women and girls are educated, they have opportunity, choice and power to make healthy decisions for themselves and their families.

Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women be their best. Formed in 1921, we are 100 years old this year and the Vancouver club has been serving the Vancouver community since 1926. We have 160,000 members in 21 countries and territories. For more information on our programs and club please visit our website and if you are interested in membership, you can link through the site or contact Carla Busnardo directly.
