Therapy Talks is a series of seminars designed to bring current and innovative learning opportunities to therapists in the Southern Georgian Bay area and beyond. Often seminars for therapists are based in Toronto causing therapists who live outside of the GTA to travel long distances to continue to educate themselves and grow as practitioners. We wanted to offer the opportunity to learn from leaders in the field for therapists who live north of Toronto in the Southern Georgian Bay region of Ontario. In addition, Toronto and GTA practitioners can have the opportunity to travel up north to enjoy the country setting while educating themselves.
Our aim is to create opportunities for the development of a community of therapists and mental health practitioners in the Georgian Bay area. Learning together is a great way to develop relationships that could result in friendship, collegial support, referral sources, peer supervision, collective projects and many other positive relationships.
Finally, we want to be excellent practitioners and know that mental health affects every community. The more competent, passionate and engaged therapists there are working with clients in our communities, the stronger our communities will be.

Peter Madore is the co-founder of Therapy Talks and a practicing relational Psychotherapist (cand) who works with clients in Toronto, Collingwood, and Creemore . He worked as a carpenter for many years before being injured at work. His time away from work to heal from the injury allowed him to reflect on what he really wanted to do with his life. He always had a love of acting and it was the passion for understanding and embodying human interaction that led him to seek training as a therapist. When he moved to Creemore in 2013, he founded the Mad and Noisy Improv Company to provide improv training to local residents as well as to bring established improv groups to the area to perform. He has also developed a curriculum to provide improv therapy for people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relational and other issues in their lives. He is always looking for opportunities to grow as a therapist and person and is excited to be able to engage in this growth with other therapists through Therapy Talks.
