Toronto Women's Podcast Network

We organize monthly events for members of the Toronto Women's Podcast Network as well as public events throughout the year. Our activities and events aim to strengthen podcasting skills, learning/sharing, informal mentorship, storytelling, audience development, creativity, voice, and empowerment. The goal is to join in with organizations like Werk It! Festival that are built to be diverse and inclusive communities of practice, including producers and consumers of podcast work, and at the same time to foster the development of a significant pool of talent currently underrepresented in the podcasting community at large. We aim to build a diverse network across race, sexual orientation, age, and ability. To foster an inclusive network, we invite GTA podcasters who are women (trans and cis) as well as 2-spirit, agender, non-binary, genderfluid, gender-diverse and gender-queer people who significantly identify as women to join our regular group meetings. We meet in person on a regular basis at the Allan Slaight Institute for Radio, Ryerson University in downtown Toronto. These meetings are intended for podcasters or those who are podcast-curious, that is, interested in producing a podcast! The aim is to centre the experience, skills, and learning opportunities of women and those who significantly identify as women. GTA podcasters who identify as men are welcome to join our newsletter and learn more about the incredible range of podcasting talent in the Network, and to support the different public events we host throughout the year to showcase this talent. All are welcome to sign up to our low-volume newsletter to receive updates on events, news, links, and info.
