Tudor House Liquor Store

Former Tudor House Pub & Liquor Store rises from the ashes as a state of the art Liquor Store.

From the architecture to our selection, everything in the store is unique.

A little bit of history:

The original building was built in 1904 as a home for soldiers and sailors, back when Esquimalt was home base for the British Royal Navy’s Pacific Fleet and later the Royal Canadian Navy. Back then, it had all the traditional design features of late Victoriana, including a turret that was an instantly recognizable landmark in the community. In its later years, the original Tudor House became a beloved neighbourhood pub and the first privately owned liquor store in Esquimalt, before burning down on July 16, 2013.

Going forward 4 years our goal was not to just create a retail space, but to also create a new experience for every single customer choosing to support our liquor store.

FEATURES:

Our in-house sommelier, Jacques Lacoste, who won the 2011 sommelier of the year award at Taste: Victoria’s Festival of Food and Wine, among other accolades, has hand-picked an impressive selection of wines that range from affordable, easy-drinking Tuesday night table wines to impressive cellar-able selections that you can find in our Cellar Room

In the Whisky/Scotch section our selection is now the biggest on Vancouver Island and we don’t plan on stopping there.

The tasting bar is a great way to explore products you typically wouldn’t try. We offer daily wine tastings with the option to try our rotating four reds and four whites.

Our multi-functional event space has hosted master classes, trade tastings, food pairings and media releases of new products, often led by visiting winemakers, brewmasters and industry representatives. As well, as seminars on travel, food and life. We are now home for the township community arts council program artist residence.

We offer competitive pricing on a great selection of stock, and we plan to offer a delivery service in the near future.
