The need for effective mental health promotion in children is more important than ever.1 in 8 school-age children currently have a diagnosable mental health problem. Half of all adult mental health problems start by the age of 14, and 75% by the age of 18. That’s why it’s vital to invest in preventing mental health problems at an early age.School-based programmes such as those produced by Partnership for Children are a proven way to promote good mental health and help all children develop skills which will enhance their present and future emotional well-being.Modern life can be full of challenges for our children. We can’t change this but we can help children to develop the skills they will need to cope with life’s difficulties, to understand and manage their emotions and to develop resilience. To date over 3 million children have taken part in Partnership for Children’s programmes around the world.Partnership for Children is based in the United Kingdom, but has a global perspective. Our small team of dedicated staff is the hub of a large international network of partners, all concerned with promoting the emotional wellbeing of children and young people.
