Do I need to bring anything?

Bring your phone, comfy walking shoes, and a willingness to explore. You’ll receive your own set of Spontaneity Dice and creativity prompts to take home and continue the practice.

Will I be doing this alone or with others?

Accepted Answer

Both! The main adventure is done solo (or with a partner if you prefer), but we’ll gather again afterward to share insights and enjoy a casual post-event social hour.

What kind of walking is involved?

There’s a 30–40 minute light walk as part of the outdoor spontaneity exercise. This isn’t a workout, it’s a gentle movement experience designed to reset your attention and spark mindfulness. You can go as slow as you like.

Is this a mindfulness or meditation event?

Accepted Answer

Not in the traditional sense. Think of this as a playful mindfulness practice. You won’t be sitting cross-legged, but you will be connecting deeply with the present moment in unexpected ways. This is actually really great for people who feel like they "can't meditate" but want the benefits.

Is this a drop-in-style event?

No. The Spontaneity Sessions is a guided experience that builds from the very beginning. Please plan to arrive by 6:30 p.m. so you can fully participate in this unique reset for your nervous system and mindset. If you're late, we will do our best to get you set up!

Is this event for couples or individuals?

Both are welcome! Whether you’re coming solo, with a friend, or as a couple, this experience is designed to be deeply personal and adaptable. We encourage you to do the spontaneity challenge on your own. Doing the activity independently actually deepens the sense of presence and connection.

What about accessibility and inclusion?

We’re committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive space. If mobility is a concern, let us know when you arrive, and we’ll make adjustments so you can participate fully. If you have other accessibility needs or questions, please reach out in advance. We want this to be supportive and safe for all!

Is there free parking?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you arrive after 5 pm, you can park in the Chapman Parkade (345 Lawrence Avenue) for free.

Are you serving food?

Accepted Answer

No.  There are plenty of restaurants close to the venue, so if you think you'll be hungry, it would be best to come down a bit early or eat before you come.

Is this a good date night idea?

Accepted Answer

Yes! This spontaneous experience is a creative and connection-building way to spend a date night. Generally speaking, spontaneity is always a good addition to date night because doing something unexpected makes it more memorable and increases connection.

Can this help with burnout or stress?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. This session is designed to reduce mental overload and reset your nervous system. It’s a playful yet effective way to relieve feelings of burnout and reconnect with calm and clarity.

Is this a creative workshop?

Not in the traditional sense. There’s no crafting or art, but you will engage your creativity in how you see, interpret, and respond to your surroundings.
