Black Engineers of Canada (BEC) is delighted to invite you to our 2026 Black History Month Celebration: ‘The journey of the Black Engineer’ taking place on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Inspired by the 2026 theme, A Century of Black History Commemorations, this year’s event will spotlight the brilliance, resilience and innovation of Black engineers—past, present and future. Together, we will celebrate the pioneers who paved the way and highlight the progress we continue to shape across Canada’s engineering and technology sectors.
Event Highlights
Our dynamic program will feature:
- Key findings from BEC’s national research study on the experiences of Black engineers across Canada
- Stories of Black trailblazers in engineering and technology, whose contributions have transformed industries globally
- An honest look at the current engineering landscape, including systemic challenges and the opportunities ahead
- BEC’s vision for the future, including our commitment to empowering entrepreneurship and supporting Black-led startups to fuel Canada’s innovation economy
