About this event

3D Modelling 101

3D modelling is an essential tool for product design, ideation and design communication. When partnered with digital fabrication tools like 3D Printing and CNC machining, it can  be used to rapidly transform a computer model into the real thing.

Learn the basics of 3D modeling using Autodesks Fusion360. Hands-on project based exercises will provide the skills necessary to develop basic knowledge of environment management, 3D modeling, assembly connections and other Fusion 360 skills.

Please note, due to COVID-19, the following measures are now in place for this class:

  • It is recommended that everyone sanitize their hands upon entering the building.

    Project

Design a desktop lamp, attach a canvas of the lampshade profile, create a parametric solid model of the lampshade and stem, create a sculpted free form body of the stand, assemble the lamp, create orthographic drawings, and export an STL file of a component which can be 3D printed.
