About this Event
The climate emergency requires an urgent society-wide response and faith communities must join the collaborative push for climate justice.
Join us for an evening with Christine Boyle - a city councilor and United Church Minister in Vancouver and a driving force for climate action by faith communities and municipal governments. Christine will share lessons from her work creating Spirited Social Change, an initiative aimed at engaging people across generations to explore the intersections between faith, spirituality, and our work for a better world, and from her more recent work successfully advocating for Vancouver's Climate Emergency Action Plan, that has Vancouver on track to reduce carbon pollution by 50% by 2030.
The event will bring together people of faith and goodwill and be a space to catalyze further faith-led climate justice action here in our region. It is co-hosted by Faith Climate Justice WR and 50by30 Waterloo Region.
Faith Climate Justice is a grassroots, faith-based movement advocating for our region to transition to a just, green recovery from the pandemic, grounded in climate science and social justice.
50by30WR is a community-led campaign advocating for Waterloo Regional Council to commit to a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions community-wide by 2030, in line with the imperatives of climate science and centering social justice and well-being.
Join us Monday, February 22nd at 7pm for an evening of inspiration and to learn more about how you can help build a just, safe climate future here in Waterloo Region.
