About this event

HELP! Save Stan is an interprofessional virtual simulation event for students from Norquest College, MacEwan University, and NAIT to come together to learn with, from, and about one another to improve the collaboration and the quality person centered-care we provide. HELP! Save Stan is not focused on treatment or technical skills but is a safe, supportive, interactive learning environment to practice their interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills. This two-hour event will place students in groups with 1 or 2 facilitators where they will interact with a Standardized Patient in two different mental health-focused scenarios.

To ensure each facilitator is prepared for the event, you will be provided with:

  • 1-hour training video giving information on Interprofessional Education and Simulation Facilitation techniques and tips on how to use the Hopin conference platform on which the event will be hosted.
  • 1-hour dry-run session on March 16 from 5 - 6 pm to practice navigating the Hopin site and interacting with the Standardized Patients (actors) that will be interacting with the students.
  • A detailed scenario description, including a scene-by-scene description with script, scenario objectives, and a facilitator debriefing document.

Following the event, facilitators will be provided with a participation certificate for use towards professional continuing education requirements.
