8-week Zoom poetry workshop with Cassidy McFadzean

This eight-week generative poetry class is designed for writers looking to write poetry in an inspiring environment and expand their writing practice. Each week will include discussion of contemporary poets and 2-3 writing prompts with opportunities for sharing work in a supportive online environment.

Poets will leave the class with a portfolio of poem drafts, information on how to begin publishing their work, and a community of new writing friends. This class is perfect for beginner writers, experienced poets getting back into writing, or anyone wanting to start off the year feeling inspired by poetry.

Cassidy McFadzean is the author of three books of poetry, most recently Crying Dress (House of Anansi, 2024). She is an experienced mentor, having served as the 2024-2025 Writer-in-Residence at Sheridan College, the 2025-2026 Poet-in-Residence at Arc Poetry Magazine, and an ongoing mentor at Flying Books. Her poetry has been published in magazines across the US and Canada and she holds an MFA in Poetry from the Iowa Writers' Workshop.
