A Conservation Caper: Adult/Educator Winter Snowshoe
Overview
Test your animal tracking abilities and investigative skills during this interactive “Whodunit” experience. As you learn about animal tracks, you will apply this knowledge to solve a “Conservation Caper”. This is a fun day of learning while snowshoeing surrounded by the scenic splendour of the Peter Lougheed peaks. This is great adventure perfect for life long learners and educators who want to connect to their local landscape!
This is a full day snowshoe! The Black Prince trailhead is 1.5 hours from Calgary and requires winter travel on both highway and gravel roads. We will begin our day with a pre-trip meeting at the Peter Lougheed Discovery Centre at 9:00 AM. We will then travel 15 minutes up the Smith Dorrien road to our trailhead. From there we will begin our 4.94 km snowshoe. You will need a moderate level of fitness to enjoy the day.
*The trailhead is located on a gravel road with winter conditions. Winter tires are recommended. We will not be travelling in avalanche terrain.
Includes: ACMG Guide, Interpretive Material, Hiking Poles, Snowshoes, Baked Goods, Digital Classroom Animal Tracks Unit (for educators).
