Event description

Description

Additive Manufacturing (AM), often simply called as 3D printing, provides unforeseen freedom to design parts with integrated functionalities and optimized performances. It has tremendous potentials for industries such as aerospace industry and medical device manufacturers to develop innovative and high value-added products. This workshop invites Canadian industries to learn the AM research activities at Fraunhofer Additive Manufacturing Alliance in Germany. Design for AM, Laser Beam Melting (LBM) and Electron Beam Melting (EBM) processes will be the focus of this workshop. Current R&D topics on LBM and EBM such as materials and application examples will be presented. Cutting edge industrial applications and trends associated with design for AM and limitations related to current AM technologies will also be discussed. This workshop is a free event. However, due to limited seating capacity for this workshop, advanced registration is required.
