ADHD, Estrogen and Perimenopause: Why our brains fly the coop
Overview
Running again by popular demand after Allana's seminar in November, please come join us for:
ADHD, Estrogen and Perimenopause: Why our brains fly the coop
If you were born with a Vulva and have ADHD, the odds are you're aware that the intersection of these two topics is life-altering, yet it's poorly researched and given very little training time for most medical providers. The amount of misinformation, coupled with the lack of trained healthcare providers, means that generations of women going through Menopause have struggled through their ADHD diagnosis with zero support. While we can't solve all of that today, our speaker will help pull back the veil by talking through:
- The importance of Estrogen in regulating ADHD symptoms, as well as it's impact on many common ADHD medications;
- Why it feels like the female brain stops working just when we need it most;
- A selection of resources (books, influencers who are actually experts, tools for "in the moment of crisis")
- The confidence to start your own learning journey, with an end goal of empowering you to successfully manage your own healthcare team.
Who should register?
Women(AFAB) who are diagnosed with ADHD, which includes high quality self-diagnosis and/or combined with a diagnosis of anxiety/depression.
Women(AFAB) who are 35 or older, and are curious about whats coming or are already in the thick of it.
If you happen to fit both categories above, you REALLY should come.
Who is Allana Bykes?
Coming from a long background in client services, sales and food service, Allana has a very "traditional" ADHD resume of changing jobs/careers every 18-24 months. Always trying to do it all, Allana hit burnout at 38 and had to redesign every aspect of her life to survive. She has spent the last 4 years immersed in the Neurodiversity and Menopause worlds with her work at Candor Diversity Group, including becoming a trained Neurodiversity Informed ICF Coach. During this process, and having (mostly) successfully acknowledged and navigated her own needs, Allana has now dedicated her career to pulling together all the separate shards of knowledge on these topics that every woman needs to know, and presenting them without the bullshit.
