Algonquin College Honours 50 Years of Nursing and its Future Vision
Overview
This event is taking place on the Ottawa and Pembroke Campuses, or you can join virtually via Zoom Webinar.
Algonquin College invites you to attend Honouring 50 Years of Nursing: Celebrating Our History and Vision for the Future.
For five decades, Algonquin College has prepared skilled, compassionate nurses who strengthen care across our region and beyond. This milestone year honours the impact of our graduates and partners while marking an exciting new chapter: the launch of our accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) degree program, now open for applications at both Ottawa and Pembroke campuses.
Together, these achievements highlight the continuity of our mission to transforming hopes and dreams into lifelong success and build on our proud legacy by expanding pathways that meet the evolving needs of today’s health-care system.
During the panel discussion, hear from an inspiring panel of leaders as they reflect on how the profession has evolved over the past five decades and what lies ahead with the launch of our new program. Our panel currently features Karima Velji, Leigh Chapman, and Paula Doering (Ottawa), with additional panelists to be announced. Each brings valuable perspectives from clinical practice, education, and health system leadership. The panel discussion will also be available online if you cannot attend in person.
For in-person attendees, the panel will be followed by a reception. We also invite you to tour our nursing facilities with guided visits led by current nursing students.
