An Evening with Dini Petty

By The Post Office by Shannon Passero

Overview

An intimate fireside chat with Canadian media icon Dini Petty, sharing stories from her trailblazing career, life lessons, and legacy.

Join us for an intimate evening with legendary broadcaster Dini Petty, a true Canadian icon whose trailblazing career has shaped the landscape of Canadian media. Niagara’s own award-winning Ruth Unrau sits down with Dini Petty for an intimate conversation reflecting on a life lived boldly on camera, in the air, and in the public eye, with a Q&A to follow.

Dini Petty’s name is synonymous with curiosity, candour, and connection. Known to generations as the host of CityLine and The Dini Petty Show, she broke barriers as one of Canada’s most recognizable and trusted interviewers. But long before she became a national media presence, Dini took to the skies, becoming one of the youngest female helicopter pilots in Canada, famously flying the iconic pink chopper for Citytv.

In this special fireside chat, Dini shares stories from her remarkable life: conversations with cultural icons, moments that reshaped her worldview, and the personal experiences, triumphs, heartbreaks, and hard-won insights that shaped the woman we know today. She invites us to look beyond the camera lens and explore how our lived experiences, the people we meet, and the risks we take form the unforgettable narrative threads of a life well told.

With Dini as our guide, we revisit a vibrant era of Canadian broadcasting and meet the colleagues, mentors, and loved ones who walked beside her through decades of innovation, challenge, and change. From pioneering work in media to writing her beloved children’s book The Queen, the Bear and the Bumblebee, Dini reveals the curiosity and courage that continue to define her.

A Q&A with Ruth Unrau and book signing to follow.
