An Irish ceili (dance) to start off the New Year
Overview
Our November 50th anniversary céilí was a great success. A huge crowd enjoyed themselves thoroughly and many said they couldn’t wait to do it again. Well, the wait is over. Our first céilí of 2026 will be Sunday January 18, 2026 from 2:00-5:00pm at St Brigid’s Centre for the Arts. Please enter by the Cumberland Street door (under the blue light).
Our dances are beginner friendly, and if you come alone, you will find dance partners.
Jason Theriault and the Ottawa Céilí Band will provide the music, and the dances will be called by Carol Ann Bowers and Siobhan O’Brien. Entertainment will be by the Celtic Cross dancers under the leadership of Caitlin Crockard. You are in for a treat when you see them perform.
There is a cash bar (Brigid's Well Pub), and free tea and soda bread will be served at the second break. We will have Ottawa Irish Arts merchandise for sale, too.
Tickets are $10 for members and $20.00 for non-members. As always, we encourage you to buy in advance. There will likely be tickets at the door, but once we reach capacity, we cannot sell any more.
All ages from 9 months to 93 years old and beyond are most welcome. Hope to see you there.
