Overview
This program is designed to equip young people with knowledge and tools to navigate challenges identified by Surrey Police Service.
The SOAR Initiative is a youth empowerment presentation delivered by the Surrey Police Youth Services Unit in partnership with the Surrey Women’s Centre and Pacific Community Resources Society. This program is designed to equip young people with knowledge and tools to navigate challenges identified by Surrey Schools and SPS as common trends/issues.
Topics covered include:
- Empowerment & Self-Worth: Building confidence, making positive choices, and setting healthy boundaries.
- Drug Awareness: Understanding the risks of substance use and how it can impact health and decision-making.
- Mental Wellness: Promoting coping skills, resilience, and knowing when and how to seek support.
- Exploitation Awareness: Recognizing red flags of grooming and sexual exploitation/trafficking, and where to turn for help.
