Edmonton Metropolitan Chorus closes its 2025–2026 season with Bach to LIFE!… eternal inspiration, a luminous and spiritually stirring concert that showcases Johann Sebastian Bach’s genius through music of joy, drama, and reflection. The program features highlights from Bach’s greatest sacred works, performed on period instruments in historically informed style.
From the triumphant chorus of the Christmas Oratorio to the introspective St. John Passion, this one-hour program offers brilliant contrast and expressive depth — a tribute to the eternal power of Bach’s music to uplift and inspire.

“Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” – BWV 147 (sung in English)
“Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden” – Motet, BWV 230
“Kyrie” & “Gloria” – Mass in B Minor, BWV 232
“Ruht wohl” – St. John Passion, BWV 245
“Dona nobis pacem” – Mass in B Minor, BWV 232
Instrumentation includes:
• Baroque strings, Oboes, Trumpets in D, Timpani
• Continuo: baroque cello, violone, theorbo, archlute, and organ
This concert is performed without intermission and runs approximately 1 hour.
