Basic ASL Vocabulary for Youth, Wed, Jan 14 - Mar 4/26, 6 PM-7 PM (EST)

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Course Dates are Wednesday, January 14, 2026 - March 4, 2026,

6 PM - 7 PM, (EST), Toronto Time

All classes are online via Zoom

Eligibility: This course is open to ages 11 - 15

This 8-week introductory to Basic ASL Vocabulary. Themes such as greetings, feelings, activities, food, etc.

A “no-voice” teaching method is used to reinforce the learning experience. You'll learn through virtual classroom instruction and role-play.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: please register as soon as possible to avoid class cancellations due to insufficient registrations. In some cases, we may reduce the number of course hours to accommodate smaller registration numbers. We do this so that the course can continue for the benefit of our student's progress. If there is a change, we will notify you. Once a course has reached sufficient registration numbers, we will contact you via email to let you know the course will be going ahead.

CLASS CANCELLATION PROTOCOL:

Class Cancellation Protocol: In the event of a class cancelation, notifications will be given via an announcement in your class in the Brightspace platform - please make sure you check the announcements section ahead of class for any important information, such as a class cancellation or substitute teacher. A make-up date will be added at the end of the schedule. A class missed by a student cannot be made up at any other time or in any other session. Tutoring services are available by contacting asleducation@chs.ca and the fee is $50 per hour.

REFUND POLICY:

A full refund of the registration cost will be provided up to five (5) business days before the course begins. In extenuating circumstances, you can submit a written request for consideration after the course begins, but before the start of the second class. If approved, 50% of your registration cost will be returned. No refund will be provided after the 2nd class.

Note that no refund or returns are permitted on student materials after they have been delivered to the student.
