Overview
Join us for a fun and interactive Batik Workshop where you'll learn the basics of this traditional art form!
Join us for a meditative, hands-on session to learn about the art of batik. This introductory level workshop will walk you through the basics of how to use a canting, a traditional pen-like tool used to designing batik tulis or "handwritten" batik. You'll also learn about specific batik patterns and the history of how fabric can be used as a form of storytelling. We will be dyeing a small 8” square with natural indigo and will guide you through the wax removal process.
- Introductions : 2.5 hour class
- Technical included : Drawing with Wax, Dyeing, Wax removal
- Please bring snacks
- 8 students per session
