Beginner Oil Painting Course

Explore the medium of oil painting with Artist and Arts Educator, Shannon Dickie in this 4 week course.

Starting Monday January 5th, come learn about oil painting, colour mixing and creating clouds and water with artist and arts educator, Shannon Dickie. She has a way of setting you up for success and leaving room for your creativity. You will get a small class size with lots of individual attention to problem-solve what you are curious to learn in the moment. Join this wonderful course over 4 Monday afternoons at the beautiful Artist Studio Loft above the Antique Emporium.

All Materials included

Day 1 - We will create a Chalk Pastel Sky Drawing exploring colour mixing and similarities of chalk pastels and oil paint as scaffolding for learning about oils.

Day 2 - We will create an 8x8 inch oil painting of clouds exploring colour mixing and the wet-into-wet painting qualities of oils.

Day 3 & 4 - We'll create a 12 x 16 painting on wood panel inspired by your own picture of sky and water.
