Better Work: The Relational Foundations of Positive Impact

An evening of shared inquiry into the role relationships and communication play in doing our best work with the people we serve.

People who work closely with people — whether as helping professionals, educators, coaches, leaders, or client-based practitioners — often sense something that’s hard to name but easy to feel:

That the quality of our impact is shaped not only by skill, effort, or good intentions, but by the relational conditions in which our work takes place.

Better Work is a 90-minute, in-person evening designed as a local Edmonton forum for people-centered professionals to come together for thoughtful conversation, shared insight, and practical reflection.

This is not a training or a lecture.

It’s a facilitated space for inquiry, dialogue, and connection around questions such as:

  • Why does work that matters deeply sometimes feel heavier than expected?
  • What quietly strains relationships and communication in people-centered roles?
  • How do clarity, confidence, and care get lost under pressure?
  • What actually supports sustainable, meaningful impact with the people we serve?

What the Evening Will Include

  • A short opening reflection from your host
  • Light facilitation and guided discussion
  • A few brief, experiential activities that highlight key relational dynamics
  • Space for participants to share, ask questions, and reflect
  • Opportunities to connect with other local professionals

Participants will leave with clear, grounded insights they can carry directly into their work — along with a deeper understanding of how relationships and communication shape effectiveness, sustainability, and impact.

Who This Evening Is For

This forum is designed for:

  • Helping and frontline professionals
  • Coaches, therapists, counselors, and social service workers
  • Educators and trainers
  • Client-based professionals
  • Leaders and managers who work closely with people

If your work involves supporting, guiding, teaching, serving, or leading others, you’re warmly welcome.

Following the event, I’ll compile key insights, questions, and common themes that emerge into a short, reader-friendly summary and share it with all attendees. This will be a simple way to revisit what was surfaced, reflect further, and carry the conversation back into your work and context after the evening concludes.

Event Format & Details

  • Length: 90 minutes
  • Style: Conversational, reflective, lightly facilitated
  • Participation: Optional sharing (no pressure to speak)
  • Refreshments: Light refreshments will be provided

This is a space for thoughtful engagement, not performance or problem-solving.
