April 17 2020 Introduction

Grant Readiness / Grant Research May 1

This session will help you get your house in order so that you can successfully apply for a grant, including: your mission, finances, resources, and organizational history. In this session we will also learn where to look for grants, and how to determine which ones are a good fit for your organization.

Developing a Grant Template -Grant Writing May 8

In this session we will develop a template that you can use to apply for grants. We will examine how to describe your strengths, how to write needs statements and how to document your project planning a proposed grant application.

Partnerships and Budgets May 22

In this session we will cover these two key elements of a successful grant proposal. We will examine partnership models, how to develop them and articulate them clearly for a grant application. You will also learn how to create a realistic and effective budget for your prospective project.

Grant Performance Measurement, Evaluation and the Social Finance Fund May 29( held June 5)

In this session you will learn key performance measure and evaluation tools and practices for grants. This will include how to track the success of your project so that you can report your results back to your funder. We will also discuss social enterprise as a revenue stream, to determine if this model makes sense for your organization. The Social Finance Fund, and other funding sources for these models, will be discussed as well.

Reflections on Diversity & Inclusion in Fundraising June 19

The purpose of the webinar is to inform participants on key characteristics related to diversity in the Canadian charitable sector. The presentation will also showcase advice on how to foster a culture of inclusion and equity, and recent examples of nonprofit organizations supporting minority groups who have leveraged their community’s assets to develop successful fundraising programs.

Money Mindset July 10

Inspirational fundraisers understand their own personal relationship with money. This session will discuss the 8 main money archetypes, their characteristics, and how to identify donor profiles for each of them. Money is not a barrier. It is a tool. This session will teach you how to leverage it for success.

Board Relations July 24

This session will focus on how to lead your board to success. We'll explain the roles and responsibilities of the board, how to build a great nominations process so that you're recruiting fantastic people to join, how to ask for help, and how to understand the differences between operational and fundraising board profiles.

Annual Fund / Monthly Donor / Legacy Giving Program Sept 11 2020

Direct mail, online donations, legacy giving and monthly donor revenue streams are the basis for many fundraising programs. Participants will learn the steps involved with these fundraising strategies including everything from budget to creative to expected results. Storytelling is a key element of engaging donors and this session will provide insight on how to share the story of any non-profit through various fundraising methods.

Major Gift Fundraising Sept 18

In this session we'll learn how to build meaningful relationships based on trust and core values closer to your organization. With good prospecting, strong discipline, a solid engagement strategy, the right ask, and a solid stewardship plan, your organization can begin raising major gifts from individuals.

Stewardship Sept 25 2020

Stewardship is the cornerstone to sustainable fundraising. From thank-a-thons to handwritten notes to gratitude reports participants will learn the best stewardship practices to engage donors for the long-term. A stewardship plan will be shared in the session that can be adapted to fit any organization and any budget. Many examples of creative stewardship ideas will be shared to inspire the group!

Volunteer Engagement Oct 2

There are so many different types of volunteers. Learning how to work with different styles of volunteers, along with setting expectations for them, is the secret sauce to thriving in the non-profit sector. We'll cover how to write a volunteer job description, how to set expectations, how to keep volunteers inspired and how to invite volunteers to become donors.

Fundraising Metrics and KPI’s Oct 16 2020

Measuring fundraising success is crucial! From average gift to donor retention and everything in between, this session will provide what fundraising metrics you should be measuring. Participants will also learn the importance of Key Performance Indicators for your board as a way of measuring success. Fundraising analytics have many benefits and we will walk through which ones provide the information that you need to move your mission forward.

Social Media and Media Relations for Non-Profits Nov 6 2020

How do you get traditional media attention in today's fast-paced world ?! And what social media channels are right for your organization? In this session, participants will receive an overview of media relations for non-profits including how to engage the media in your story and how to write a news release. Social media can feel overwhelming! Participants will receive an overview of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and a few other social media platforms.
