BioNova in partnership with Emergence are hosting an IP strategy session with speakers Tony Orsi and Noel Courage from Bereskin & Parr LLP. An IP strategy for a company is crucial for achieving its business objectives. During this IP presentation we will focus primarily on patents, and how they can be used as the foundation of an IP strategy, to build an IP portfolio and create value. The seminar will cover best practice IP strategies for life sciences companies, such as high tech, medical and cleantech inventions. Key types of IP agreements will also be discussed.

Noel Courage - Patent attorney at Bereskin & Parr LLP
Noel Courage is a partner in the Intellectual Property law firm Bereskin & Parr LLP. He is a lawyer and a US and Canadian patent agent. Noel has been practicing IP law since 1995. He helps with patenting and licensing of life science inventions, particularly biotechnology, chemistry and medical devices.
Tony Orsi - Patent Agent, Partner at Bereskin & Parr LLP
Tony Orsi is a patent agent and partner with the Intellectual Property law firm of Bereskin & Parr LLP. Tony has a background in electrical and biomedical engineering as well as business and helps clients with their patent needs in a wide variety of areas including medical devices, electrical and computer technology, software, mechanical and clean-tech. Tony also mentors startups on understanding Intellectual Property rights and devising an IP strategy to help them achieve their business goals.
