Event description
Are you bored with boards? How many times have you heard that the non-profit Board model is broken, and can it be fixed?

About this Event

On February 3rd, join us for a riveting roundtable on boards - the good, the bad and well, the ugly. We are at a time of upheaval across the non-profit sector as we look closely at what is working and what needs to change.

In a discussion facilitated by Marcus Youssef, playwright, artistic director, and educator, hear from Martha Rans, founder of the Pacific Legal Education and Outreach Society, Yvette Nolan, Algonquin playwright, director and dramaturg, as well as Mark Friesen, Executive Director at Columbia College and facilitator of Vantage Point’s “Reimagining Governance” peer network. Be a part of the conversation as we dive into how to encourage change, whether we should remunerate directors, and more.

Please note: Tickets are by donation and zoom meeting details will be noted in your order confirmation email. This event will be recorded.

About PLEO: It is no secret that the arts sector is stretched in capacity, and adding the complexities of the law can inhibit their ability to show up for the communities they serve. PLEO’s mission is to increase access to justice for the non-profit and arts sector by providing legal information, education and advice when they need it most. Our goal is to empower you to navigate and avoid legal crises so you can get back to your important work in the community.
