Brain Health Basics & Beyond
Overview
Brain Health Basics & Beyond
Presented by Alzheimer Society Niagara Region (ASNR) & Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO)
We invite you to a special educational session designed to support seniors, caregivers, and families in understanding brain health and dementia with confidence and compassion.
This collaborative presentation will begin with the Alzheimer Society Niagara Region sharing Brain-Healthy Strategies for prevention, followed by an Overview of Dementia and practical Communication Strategies that help foster connection, understanding, and dignity.
Building on this foundation, Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) will explore responsive behaviours—what they mean, why they appear, and how caregivers can approach them using person-centred, non-pharmacological strategies.
We will wrap up with a joint Q&A, giving residents, families, and community members the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance from both teams.
This session is part of Cavendish Manor’s Golden Age, Smart Choices series, dedicated to empowering seniors with knowledge, connection, and confidence.
