2nd Annual Conference of Building a Blueprint to address GBV against non-status, refugee and immigrant women across Canada
About this event
Our 2nd annual conference of Building a Blueprint is focused on working together to advocate and develop promising practices to address GBV against NSRI women grounded in survivor-led and community based advocacy models in the context of COVID-19.
We invite non-status, refugee and immigrant women, community members, service providers, organizational leaders and advocates to register and:
- Learn about the development, commitment and challenges of survivor-led and community advocacy models to address GBV against NSRI communities
- Exchange knowledge on strategies and promising practices that support NSRI communities in addressing GBV in the context of COVID-19
- Participate in collective engagement to identify recommendations that center on NSRI survivor needs and demands
- Strengthen meaningful partnerships nationally that centres the knowledge and expertise of NSRI women
We strive to create a trauma and violence-informed virtual conference in order to provide a safe and inclusive space that promotes the participation of NSRI survivors in a more caring, compassionate, person-centred and non-judgmental way. Please note that we offer options so participation at our conference can be confidential and anonymous, and in addition, no one is required to disclose their experiences.
