Description

Join the Community Energy Association and staff from the District of Sechelt, Town of Gibsons and Sunshine Coast Regional District to learn about building to the BC Energy Step Code - a new provincial framework aimed at creating healthier, more energy efficient, and more comfortable buildings.

This workshop is for builders and tradespeople, designers, and building officials.
Attendees will earn 6.5 CPD credits (Group A) from BC Housing and are eligible for credits through the Building Officials Association of BC.

Overview

This workshop features presentations by Einar Halbig of E3 Eco Group as well as representatives from FortisBC. Staff from the District of Sechelt, Town of Gibsons and Sunshine Coast Regional District will be participating. In the afternoon, participants will experience a blower door demonstration.

The early bird rate is $158 for registrations until May 1. For registrations after this date, the fee is $175.

A continental breakfast, coffee break and buffet lunch are included.

About our Main Speaker

Einar Halbig is a Principal of E3 Eco Group and has over 16 years of education and experience in residential construction. He specializes in practical solutions that make a house more efficient, safe and comfortable. Trained as a civil engineer, he has evaluated over 2000 existing homes across the Lower Mainland as well as hundreds of new homes. He brings an engineering background, technical sales expertise, and hands-on experience to the field of energy-efficiency and sustainable consulting. Einar provides Building Science for New Homes training and Certified Energy Advisor training. He also serves as the Chair of the CHBA BC Technical Advisory Committee.
