Description

The Community Energy Association and City of Terrace are hosting this workshop for builders and tradespeople, designers and building officials to learn how to build to the BC Energy Step Code - a new provincial framework aimed at creating healthier, more efficient, and more comfortable buildings.

Attendees will earn 6.5 CPD credits (Group A) from BC Housing and are eligible for credits through the Building Officials Association of BC.

Overview

This workshop features presentations by Rod Croome of Hometech Energy Solutions, David Block from the City of Terrace, and Al Kleinschmidt from Pacific Northern Gas. In the afternoon, participants will experience a blower door demonstration at a local home.

The early bird rate is $158 for registrations until April 26. For registrations after this date, the fee is $175. CHBA and CEA members are eligible for 10% discounts.

A continental breakfast, coffee break and buffet lunch are included.

About our Main Speaker

Rod Croome is a Professional Engineer and President of Hometech Energy Solutions, a NRCan registered service organization to deliver the EnerGuide Rating System. As an Energy Advisor, Rod has conducted thousands of home energy assessments of single family and multi-unit residential buildings. He is an advocate for energy efficiency in the residential and commercial building sectors with experience in construction and energy management.
