Building Bridges Between Jewish and Palestinian People in Our Community
Overview
Join us for a thought-provoking evening with Raja G. Khouri and Jeffrey J. Wilkinson, co-authors of The Wall Between: What Jews and Palestinians Don’t Want to Know About Each Other. This timely discussion, led by a Palestinian and a Jew, offers practical ways for Jewish and Palestinian people and their supporters in the diaspora to listen, understand, and engage with each other’s perspectives in new, meaningful ways.
Raja Khouri is a human rights consultant, a co-founder of the Canadian Arab/Jewish Leadership Dialogue Group, founding president of the Canadian Arab Institute and a former 10-year commissioner with the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Jeffrey Wilkinson holds a doctorate in Education from the University of Toronto and works actively on issues relating to trauma and the Israel/Palestine struggle. Drawing on decades of experience in social justice, human rights, conflict mediation, and inter-cultural dialogue, Raja and Jeffrey explore the histories, identities, and psychological barriers that divide the Jewish and Palestinian communities. Amidst the grief, trauma, pain, and expressions of distrust and dislike between Palestinian and Jewish people in our community, Raja and Jeffrey discuss what can be done to build allyship and further true justice and peace.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in meaningful conversation, gain insights, and contribute to building bridges between communities. All are welcome to attend and support positive dialogue. Adults only please.
