The need for civics education has never been more important. Schools play a pivotal role in helping students understand their civic rights and responsibilities, especially in a time of rapidly shifting national and global politics. The rise of artificial intelligence (AI), changes in democratic processes such as voting, and evolving social issues all highlight the need for informed and engaged citizens.
This panel will explore diverse perspectives on the value and relevance of civics education today, and why it matters for preparing students to participate meaningfully in their communities and in our democracy.
