Communication: Greasing the Wheel of Succession

Effective communication greases the wheel of succession planning – everything will go smoother, and you are less likely to have to deal with unexpected breakdowns and blow ups. So, before you create a tax plan or take on a major expansion, stop and build smart, practical ways to share information and make decisions together. It's worth the preventative maintenance

Lunch, coffee, and tea provided. Plus, all participants will be entered into a draw to win a Family Farm Video from Loft 32 (to be completed by April 2026).

With nearly 40 per cent of Canadian farmers expected to retire in the next eight years and only 10.5 per cent of local farms having written succession plans, Wellington County has launched supports to help farming families navigate this critical period of transition. Wellington County’s new programme offers families a variety of resources, including a practical planning guide. Learn more at www.wellington.ca/transitionplanning.
