About this event

Heritage Canada has just announced the final components of Phase 2 of the COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund for Cultural, Heritage and Sport Organizations.

Those magazines and newspapers who did not or were ineligible to receive the Canada Periodical Fund's Aid To Publishers funding--such as free and online magazines and weekly newspapers--may be able to apply for emergency funding through the Special Measures for Journalism fund instead.

The Special Measures fund has been allocated $45 million. Those who apply will receive an amount based on their percentage of the total editorial spend by all applicants.

In order to assist BC, Alberta and other Canadian publications who may be eligible to apply for the Special Measures, MagsBC will offer the following workshops at 10-11 a.m. PDT

Tuesday: CHANGE: David Harkness, CPF, will present on this fund and answer questions.

Wednesday & Thursday: Allyson McGrane, an experienced grant writer with Left Right Minds, will be available to assist publishers as they work through their applications.

If you feel overwhelmed, confused, or not sure you’re eligible after reading the application guide, or just want to maximize your chances, you may find one or more of these workshops of use.

Registration is only $20 for all 3 workshops, so register now!
